How do I install Post Purchase Offers? 

Of all the apps in the world, you’re ready to download ours. 😍 Here are some quick and easy instructions to reward your superb taste!

  1. Find the Post Purchase Offers by CartHook in the Shopify app store
  2. Click “Add App” button
  3. Log into your Shopify store account if you aren’t already
  4. Review the permissions and select “Install app”
  5. Review and approve the payment term details 
  6. Make sure to activate CartHook Post Purchase Offers in Settings > Checkout > Post-purchase page

Do Post Purchase Offers work with 3rd Party Fulfillment Apps that support auto-fulfillment after the order is created?

Can I test my live funnel?
Absolutely! We recommend using one of Shopify's recommended testing options outlined here.

Can I set custom shipping rates for post-purchase offers?
Sure can. You can choose to have free shipping or flat-rate shipping. Your choice.

Can I use subscriptions?
Yep! Create long-term relationships with your customers by offering subscriptions in your post-purchase offers. Learn more. 

Do Purchase Offers support multi-language?
Offer pages can be translated for French, German, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Czech and Portuguese stores. Learn more here!

Can I integrate Post Purchase Offers with other Shopify apps?
CartHook Post Purchase Offers utilizes Shopify's post-purchase checkout extension and does not directly integrate with other Shopify apps. As long as other apps are compatible with Shopify's post-purchase extension functionality, there should be no issue using it in conjunction with our app.


Funnels & Offers


Will customers be able to accept post-purchase offers with one click? 
Yes! Customers will not have to re-enter their payment or shipping info.

If my customer closes their browser window after the initial checkout (when the post-purchase offer is shown to them), will I lose the original purchase?
Nope! The post-purchase offer is displayed only after the customer has already completed their original purchase, so you will never lose your original sale.

How many post-purchase offers can I show my customers?

Short answer: Two. This will keep your customers and your bottom line happy!

Long answer: Each post-purchase offer funnel can display up to two offer pages based on what is in your customer's cart. Our industry experience and historic data show a large drop in conversion rates between the second and third offer. Our goal is to help increase your average order value with post-purchase revenue, however, we must always keep the customer in mind and make sure they have a delightful experience.

Can the customer skip the post-purchase offer funnel altogether?
Yes. The customer can bypass the post-purchase funnel at any time by clicking the view order confirmation link included at the top of each post-purchase offer page. The customer can also simply close their browser after completing the initial checkout order.

If the customer attempts to accept a post-purchase offer but receives an error message, what happens?
There are a few reasons why a customer can get a transaction declined message when attempting to accept a post-purchase offer. The two main reasons are that the payment processor declined the offer, or the bank did. Learn more about failed and incomplete payments here! 

Can I track post-purchase offer revenue and/or conversions with Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or other 3rd party analytics?
Yes, you can learn more here.

I use a 3rd party tool (like Hotjar) to track customer activity. Can I implement a script on CartHook?
Yes, you can implement a script. However, please keep in mind that script access is controlled by Shopify for all PPO apps, and the script will only run within a sandbox and isn't included on the main offer page. We recommend you consult Shopify's help doc here for more detailed information.

What happens if one of my products is out of stock?
We take into account your product and variant setting to “continue selling when out of stock”. If this is not enabled and there is no inventory, the offer will not display to your shopper. If only certain offered variants are out of stock, the accept button on your offer will reflect that to avoid any confusion.

Please note, if the product and variants are set to "continue selling when out of stock", offers will continue to display and shoppers will be able to purchase regardless of available inventory.

Is there any limit on the number of funnels I can have?
There's no hard limit to the number of funnels you can have in CartHook. That being said, errors and timeouts may occur if there are more than 1,000 active funnels in the app.

Can I use a product in "Draft" status for my funnel offers?
Yes. While the product in "Draft" status will not be available on your Shopify store, you can still use it for your post-purchase funnel.


General


Do Purchase Offers have a free trial I can start with?
Yes! We offer a 14-day free trial that you can access through the Shopify app store. Get started with your 14-day trial now!

If I uninstall Post Purchase Offers, will I lose all of the funnels I've created?
We deactivate funnels upon uninstall but do not reactivate them upon reinstallation. You'll have to re-publish funnels upon reinstalling. Free trial days are "paused" upon uninstall. For example, if you have 13 days left when you uninstall, you'll still have 13 trial days when you reinstall.

If I added Post Purchase Offers and a competitor's app at the same time, would both apps work?
Only one post-purchase app can be enabled at a time in your checkout settings. See here for more info.

I want to test Post Purchase Offers before installing it on my live store. Is this possible?
Yes! Shopify development stores can now install Post Purchase Offers directly from the Shopify app store to set up and test at no cost.

Please note, only test stores under the following Shopify plans can use our free development store plan:

  • Affiliate
  • Partner Test
  • Plus Partner Sandbox
  • Staff
  • Staff Business

Do I need a developer to set up Post Purchase Offers?
Absolutely not. You can easily do this yourself using our editor. Check out our video tutorial here!

Can I use Post Purchase Offers on all of my Shopify stores?
Our app must be installed individually in each of your stores. Each install is a separate instance and does not share app data across Shopify stores.

What if I’m not satisfied with Post Purchase Offers?
This is why we have a 14-day trial! If you’re not satisfied with the app, simply uninstall it from your store before your trial ends and you won't be charged. You can also always reach out to us for support or to leave feedback at support@carthook.com.

Do Purchase Offers work on platforms other than Shopify?
Nope. Post Purchase Offers were developed exclusively for the Shopify platform.

How will my post-purchase revenue display in my Shopify analytics?
Orders in which a post-purchase offer was added will be tagged with "CartHook Post Purchase Offers Accepted" in your Shopify admin. You can also view more detailed analytics on the Post Purchase Offers app Analytics page.

How will my post-purchase sales display in third-party tracking analytics (Google Analytics, Facebook, etc.)?

Supported Payment Processors

Is Post Purchase Offers compatible with Shopify Payments?
Yes, Shopify Payments is fully supported! Post purchase offers will be displayed to all customers who use any direct third-party credit card processor that’s supported by Shopify Checkout.


Does Post Purchase Offers work with digital wallets (Amazon Pay / Apple Pay / G-Pay, etc)?
Yes and no. The initial checkout order will work, however, if the customer pays for their entire order using an unsupported digital wallet, no post-purchase upsell offers will display. The only exceptions are PayPal Express and ShopPay. Learn more here.

Does Post Purchase Offers work with third party payment processors (Affirm, AfterPay, Klarna, Sezzle)?
If your customer pays for their entire order using a third-party payment processor, post-purchase offers will not display. Learn more here.

Are duties or multi-currency supported?
Post-purchase offers will not be displayed for orders that have duties or if the initial checkout was completed in a currency other than the store's default currency.

Is Post Purchase Offers compatible with Shopify Gift Cards?
Kind of. If the customer pays for their entire order using a gift card, no offers will be displayed because Shopify does not yet support that for native post-purchase offers apps. A workaround is that if the gift card doesn't cover the total balance of the order and your customer uses a credit card to pay for the remaining balance, post-purchase offers will be displayed

Do discount codes applied to the original order have any effect on the post-purchase items?
Nope. The discount code used on the original items applies to those items only.
